Research workgroup. Drawing on the North Carolina Civic Index model, the coalition will partner with Arizona State University to gather data through surveys and analyze public perceptions regarding civic education. This information will be presented in a formal Arizona Civic Index report that will be distributed to all Arizona school board members, school principals, district administrators and state decision makers.
Arizona Civic Index Survey Tool - Draft (1/06) (PDF)
The Arizona Civic Index survey will be
conducted with several thousand Arizona children and adults to measure their civic engagement and attitudes toward civic education. Please review the draft survey tool and send comments to the AZCIVICS research listserv (join the listserv below).
Arizona Civics Inventory - Districts Completed 11/1/05
The Arizona Civics Inventory was delivered in August 2005 to every public school district in Arizona to collect information about how civics and government are addressed in Arizona's School Districts. The Arizona Civics Inventory for school districts was concluded on November 1, 2005. The results of the Civics Inventory were released in November 2005.
